This article explains how the motion sensor works on your Infinity X1 Under-Cabinet Lights and what to expect when Motion Mode is enabled.
How the Motion Sensor Works
When Motion Mode is turned on:
The light turns on when motion is detected
The light stays on for approximately 20 seconds
If no additional motion is detected, the light automatically turns off
This auto-off timing is intentional and designed to help preserve battery life.
The timer is built into the light and cannot be adjusted.
Continuous Motion Detection (Normal Behavior)
If motion continues within the 20-second window:
The timer resets
The light stays on as long as motion is continuously detected
This is normal and commonly happens in:
Kitchens
Hallways
Walkways
Other high-traffic areas
Motion Sensor Only Activates in the Dark
The motion sensor is designed to activate only in low-light or dark conditions.
If the room is already well lit, the motion sensor may not turn the light on. This helps prevent unnecessary activations and extends battery life.
What Can Trigger the Motion Sensor More Often
The motion sensor may activate frequently due to:
Regular foot traffic
Passing shadows or nearby movement
Pets moving within the sensor’s range
Frequent activations can cause the light to stay on longer and may reduce the time between charges. This does not indicate a problem with the light.
Optional Alternative: Manual Control
If the motion sensor is activating more often than expected, you can:
Turn Motion Mode off
Use the remote control to manually turn the lights on and off as needed
