If your Duracell Lantern isn't working as expected, follow these steps to identify and fix the issue.
🔋 Step 1: Check Power Source
🔌 Using USB-C Charging (Rechargeable Battery)
1️⃣ Make sure you're using a USB-C charging cable (included) and a 5V/1A adapter (not included).
2️⃣ Plug the cable into the IN port (not OUT) under the rubber cover.
3️⃣ Look for the blue LED indicators near the charging port:
🔵 Blinking Blue Lights = Charging
🔵🔵🔵🔵 4 Solid Blue Lights = Fully charged
4️⃣ If the battery doesn’t charge, try:
- A different USB-C cable or adapter
- A different power outlet
🔋 Using Alkaline Batteries (D-Cell Backup)
1️⃣ Remove the bottom battery compartment cover.
2️⃣ Insert 4x D-cell batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
3️⃣ To switch from rechargeable battery to D-cell power, turn the lantern off and hold the power button for 3 seconds.
4️⃣ Turn the lantern back on to activate D-cell battery mode.
⚠ Note: The rechargeable battery is built-in and cannot be removed. Switching to D-cell mode allows the lantern to operate on backup power.
☀️ Step 2: Check Solar Charging (Backup Power)
1️⃣ Place the lantern in direct sunlight (no shade).
2️⃣ A red indicator light inside the lantern will turn on to confirm it’s charging.
3️⃣ Solar charging takes 5–7 days for a full charge.
⚠ Important: Solar charging is a slow backup method. Use USB-C for faster charging.
🚦 Step 3: Understanding Modes
If your lantern turns off unexpectedly, try:
✔ Cycling through brightness modes by pressing the power button.
✔ Checking the battery level - if only 1 blue LED is lit, recharge the battery.
🔄 Step 4: Reset the Lantern
1️⃣ Remove the D-cell batteries (if installed).
2️⃣ Wait 30 seconds, then reinsert them.
3️⃣ Try turning the lantern on again.
⚠ Reminder: The rechargeable battery is built-in, so only D-cell batteries can be removed.
❌ Still Not Working?
🔹 No charging lights? Try another USB-C cable & adapter.
🔹 Lantern won’t switch to alkaline power? Hold the power button for 3 seconds while off, then turn it on again.
🔹 Solar charging not working? Ensure the lantern is in direct sunlight. Remember, solar charging takes up to several days.
